Job Description:

Fil Doux Textiles is looking for a Production Controller to take on responsibilities related to product development, sampling and launch activities. The position is full time and the work location is based in Brooklyn, New York.

Responsibilities:

• Review purchase orders for new collections, sample replenishments, and production coordination
• Ensure timely availability of materials for samples, photoshoots, and trade shows
• Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions
• Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules
• Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays
• Track and report on memo sample inventory, open production orders, and SKU performance, while maintaining stock of marketing resources requested by the Sales and Marketing departments

Required Skills and Experience:

Must have one (1) year of textile industry-specific experience:

• Developing production schedules for fibers products including fabrics, finished goods and textile components, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely delivery.
• Revising production schedules based on changing conditions (design changes, labor/material shortages, etc.).
• Working with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Inspecting and documenting raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
• Calculating required amounts of labor, materials, manufacturing costs, and wages, for budgeting purposes.
• Utilizing textile Enterprise Resource Planning systems to: predict future demand for products based on historical data; adjust schedules in real-time based on changes in demand or production constraints; calculate raw material needs; automate purchase orders for required materials; optimize inventory levels; track actual production against schedules; and identify/address bottlenecks or issues.
