NEWH+Fil Doux Fashion Fundraiser
Fil Doux Textiles partnered with the NEWH Northwest chapter to create an event that was beautiful and inspiring but most of all in keeping with the mission of NEWH: to provide scholarship, education, and business resources for aspiring individuals in the hospitality industry. Together, the NEWH Northwest chapter and Fil Doux Textiles provided the opportunity and the tools for a group of design students to conceptualize a textile that would walk the runway in the form of a dress at the Savor Uncorked Event.

The winning design was the lovely “Elytra” designed by Christa Nielsen and Sima Vahidi. This pattern has been brought to life in Fil Doux’s mill and most recently launched as part of the company’s latest collection. Elytra is a large scale etymological-inspired design. The piece quietly juxtaposes nature and industrial elements while playing with ombre color blocks in cool greys and dusty pinks, and is sure to bring a fresh perspective to any guest room.

Not only beautiful, the textile is a representation of the strength and versatility of Fil Doux’s digital prints and the power of custom fabrication. The prints are created using high pressure air simultaneously with the application of ink to create a design that goes beyond the surface of the thread and guaranteed to meet hospitality grade standards. This ability to create custom prints is aligned with Fil Doux’s mission to inspire and embrace beauty in all it’s forms.
